Fantasy Beer Name Podcast
Craft beer is full of weird and wacky names, and we start each episode by doing our very best to add to that; picking from a list of fictional beer names, discussing the story behind it and allocating it to a brewery. Join Chris and Paul as they discuss their beer related antics while drinking some of the latest and greatest craft beer. You’ll also find bonus, behind the scenes content from our brewery interviews that didn’t make it into the final video. Oh, and the occasional special guest too.

We all know DEYA for being one of the leading hazy pale breweries in the UK, but there's more to the Cheltenham haze merchants than meets the eye. We met up with Head Brewer, Gareth for a walk around the brewery, an in-depth chat and to see how they've adapted their original brew site into a Mixed Fermentation project.

A podcast version of our second YouTube live stream. Chris and Paul start with a couple of Welsh beers from Wild Horse Brewing and Polly's Brew Co before meandering off into other topics like a stream piddling down the side of Mount Snowdon. No less than 3 DIPAs are consumed, while we indulge in high street conspiracies, chat with some loyal subscribers, tell stories from our recent trip to DEYA in Cheltenham and more.
You can watch the stream back over at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H0CAbXpDDI - but really, now the podcast version is here, why would you want to look at us?

**PLEASE NOTE: this episode is an audio rip from the live stream, where we were both sat around one mic. While we've done our best to give the sound a bit of a clean, this episode won't be up to the usual production values. Thanks for listening!

This week, we wheel out the Guest Mic and put Olly from Brewser in front of it. As well as joining in with Chris and Paul’s inane beery jibber jabber, he also talks about Brewser’s most ambitious project yet and shares some fun little insights and anecdotes from behind the scenes (and some exclusives). We lube the wheels with a Verdant x Floc DIPA and a 13% Barley Wine from Chapter Brewing.
In the fantasy ad break, Olly provides sidehustling beer geeks the perfect beverage for a hectic lifestyle.

Don’t be fooled by the teaser.. This week, we do have our most serious beer talk yet. In part one, some unfinished fantasy beer name business is concluded, Chris reveals how close we came to missing an episode and our next brewery trip is revealed. Then in part two, we have a bumper edition of the Misery Corner (aka Steve Power’s Doom Bar) where Paul gives us the inside story on his recently closed bottle shop & the trials and tribulations faced in the beer retail industry. Expect some serious insights with moderate levity.

Chris and Paul are drunk, as they reap the consequences of recording podcast episodes in a bar. On the agenda this week is their recent trip to Crossover Blendery in Hitchen. And Paul discusses his birthday trip to Sheffield with its vibrant beer scene. We feature beers from New Invention & a whopping 15.1% from Wander Beyond.
In the fantasy ad break, a new toy craze for craft beer nerds kickstarts a potential cinematic brewniverse.

In this loose-lipped, mildly erratic episode, we have the big Baron debrief featuring some exclusive content which didn't make the recent edits. Shot on location at the Hop Vault in Stourbridge, Chris and Paul have an in-depth discussion about their relatively surreal trip to Baron. Before moving on to talk about their first invite only beer launch with Attic Brew Co. in Birmingham, and why they’re not corporate shills.

We kick off episode two with some wild, unfounded speculation about a certain brewery’s taproom. We discuss the latest lager tasting video, the unfortunate demise of a famous American brewery and we ponder choice and innovation in craft beer. All of this over beers from Polly’s and Overtone.

The lads finally try their hand at the podcast game. In the first episode, Christian and Paul discuss a local beer festival, a trip to Liverpool, burning pubs and the recent alcohol duty reform in the UK and its implications for the craft beer scene. All of this over a some cheap German supermarket lager and a brand new Wylam DIPA.
